Cookies and analytics
Updated: 15 October 2026
Optional Google Analytics loads only after you accept it. You can reject it and continue using BlindEve. Analytics runs on the public website, never in the file encryption console.
Essential browser storage
We store your language preference as blindeve-language and your cookie choice as blindeve-consent-v1 in local storage. Your cookie choice is valid for 180 days, after which we ask again. The language preference remains until you change it or clear browser storage. These preferences are specific to this browser and shared between the public website and console on the same domain.
The console also needs browser storage for authentication, account settings and secure file delivery. Rejecting analytics does not delete or disable that essential storage.
Issue reporting
When you choose to send an issue report while signed in, we save your text, account email/reference, deployment and browser details, and a bounded recent diagnostic trail in our internal BlindEve issue tracker. Automatic diagnostics exclude document contents, credentials and encryption keys. Browser history stays in memory for up to 10 minutes; saved finished reports are kept in the application for 90 days by default. Tracker copies have a separate administrator-managed retention policy. Restricted operational logs are retained for 400 days in production and for unidentified environments; identified development logs are retained for 90 days. Issue reports contain correlation identifiers and a server-generated time window, never raw operational log lines. Reporting works independently of optional analytics. Read the issue reporting guide for the details collected and delivery behavior.
Optional Google Analytics
If you accept, Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-6HNZR599N9) measures visits to our public website, traffic sources, devices and approximate location. Google receives technical information and cookie identifiers when Analytics runs. Its processing is described in Google’s Privacy Policy.
We configure Analytics with Google Signals and advertising personalization disabled. We remove URL query parameters and fragments from the configured page address and reduce referrers to their origin. We do not send account identifiers, email addresses, filenames, file contents or encryption keys to Analytics. The Analytics script is not included in the console, sign-in callback or development previews.
| Storage | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| blindeve-consent-v1 | Local storage remembering acceptance or rejection. | 180 days. |
| blindeve-language | Local storage remembering English or Romanian. | Until changed or cleared. |
| _ga and _ga_* | First-party Google Analytics browser and session cookies, only after acceptance. | Configured for up to 180 days without renewing expiry on each visit. |
Analytics user and event retention is controlled separately in the Google Analytics property settings.
Change or withdraw your choice
Open here or in the website footer. The console footer also links to these settings. Withdrawing consent disables further collection, deletes accessible first-party Analytics cookies and reloads the public page to unload the Google tag. Open public website tabs follow changes made in another tab. Withdrawal does not undo data already collected.
You can also clear browser storage to remove your saved choice. Cookies on Google’s own domains are managed through your browser or Google account settings.
